BIO

Tyler Hinkle, AICP, is a Senior Planner with extensive experience in long-range planning, community visioning, and conservation. Before joining EPR, he served as the County Planner for Shenandoah County, Virginia, where he led the development of a comprehensive plan balancing preservation with strategic investment. His approach is deeply rooted in public engagement, ensuring communities are active participants in shaping their future.

His contributions to planning have been recognized with the 2023 APA Virginia Distinguished New Professional Award and the 2024 Conservation Leader Award from the Lord Fairfax Soil and Water Conservation District. Since 2021, he has served as the Shenandoah Valley Section Director for APA Virginia and teaches Townscape Planning for Rural-Urban Partnerships at UVA.

Tyler’s expertise spans comprehensive planning, transportation planning, conservation, and zoning reform. His analytical approach integrates data-driven decision-making, GIS analysis, and capital impact modeling to ensure sustainable community growth.
