The Thriving Communities Program is a multi-agency effort to provide place-based technical assistance to communities to plan and transform infrastructure and community development projects in hundreds of communities nationwide. The program provides in-depth, hands-on technical assistance through capacity builders to regions and local communities, resulting in accelerated project plans and effective project implementation.
EPR provides Thriving Communities technical assistance through both the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), along with a team of partners including Equitable Cities, Morgan State University, Nelson\Nygaard Consulting Associates, Safe Routes Partnership, and Smart Growth America.
EPR’s Thriving Communities projects include communications and engagement strategies around Comprehensive Plan, Zoning Ordinance, and Bus Rapid Transit improvements in the growing Madison suburb of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, and housing supply, development regulation, and housing affordability planning in Port St. Lucie, Florida, one of the fastest growing cities in America.
