EPR served as the project transportation engineer for the site selection efforts. For the intermodal center EPR assisted with the public involvement process, conducted analyses of traffic and pedestrian access, and assessed impacts to routes caused by the change in transfer locations. For the maintenance center, EPR assessed traffic impacts and potential impacts to routes as a result of the new location.
EPR provided analyses and technical memorandums throughout the process, and addressed the traffic and pedestrian access portions of the environmental assessment effort.
Recently, as part of the design process, EPR designed the stormwater system for the new maintenance facility.
EPR has performed these types of services for other transit centers, such as the Petersburg Multimodal center and the Blacksburg Area Transit bus center. Our staff has worked on similar projects in Tysons Corner, Bridgeport Connecticut, and station areas along the Dulles Rail line in northern VA.
