EPR managed the 2040 update for the region’s long range transportation plan. Building on the 2035 LRTP (managed by Bill Wuensch of EPR, while with Renaissance Planning Group), the region’s vision, values, and goals were brought forward to inform a MAP-21 ready project evaluation framework. The prior plan (2035) included an extensive scenario planning exercise and continued a conversation with the region regarding the interaction between land use planning and transportation. EPR, working closely with the MPO TTC, updated the listing of projects per the regional travel demand model and regional crash mapping, which was vetted with the public and stakeholders, and prioritized using the project evaluation framework. This latest plan update incorporated the region’s Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) goals and EPR worked with a CEDS committee as a key stakeholder group. The public process included the use of the Mindmixer interactive website platform to maximize participation in the project. EPR conducted three community meeting sessions and numerous stakeholder sessions throughout the process .
