BIO
Abiodun Onanuga is a Planner whose work focuses on community and strategic planning, placemaking, public engagement, GIS, and data-informed decision-making. He develops action plan and engagement materials, analyzes input from surveys, workshops, interviews, and stakeholders, and produces planning documents, maps, and GIS tools that support local and rural communities. His work at EPR has included Recreation Economy for Rural Communities initiatives, the Waynesboro Together comprehensive planning process, an ArcGIS Online grant-screening application for Gloucester County, and Optimus, a Codex-based system supporting planning research, document production, GIS validation, and workflow management.
Abiodun holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in urban and environmental planning from the University of Virginia. Before joining EPR, he worked as a Transportation Planning Intern at Kimley-Horn, where he supported comprehensive planning, transportation safety analysis, and ADA transition planning projects in Texas. He also brings experience in AutoCAD-based site design, construction coordination, data science instruction, and database management. His combination of planning, technical, and engagement experience supports a community-centered and analytical approach to his work.
