EPR worked with the City of Charlottesville and the Belmont Neighborhood Association to develop design concepts and then designs for context sensitive road improvements. EPR developed concepts and renderings of the improvements that included modification of parking – testing various alternatives such as back-in/parallel/and 90 degree, median improvements and landscaping, sidewalk improvements, and new intersection geometry. The overall goal of the project was to preserve vehicle capacity while enhancing pedestrian safety and aesthetics of the study area.
EPR’s efforts included working through the planning phase, developing design concepts, developing construction documents, and then supporting the construction administration project.
